ZEBBIE (‘ROAD SAFETY ACTIVIST’)
Motor vehicle collision invesitgation, analysis and reconstruction, by its very nature seeks to establish how collisions occur, why they occur, when they occur and where they occur.
We hope to help make our roads safer through initiating and supporting various initiatives with the aid of our very own road safety activist, “ZEBBIE“.
We should all strive towards the prevention of collisions !!!
We at JPSAC are committed to the goal of promoting road safety through education. We want to see as many motorists and pedestrians as possible enlist as members of ZEBBIE’S ‘RoSaFi’ TRIBE and help to make our roads safer. ‘RoSaFi‘ stands for “ROAD SAFETY FIRST“.
We intend to establish strategic partnerships with other like-minded and progressive individuals / organizations and eventually be in a position to offer a basket of incentives and benefits to enlisted members of ZEBBIE’S ‘RoSaFi’ TRIBE.
In the mean time, we want to grow ZEBBIE’S ‘RoSaFi’ TRIBE.

” I’m ZEBBIE’S ‘ALTER EGO’. ‘ZEBBIE’S ROAD SAFETY FIRST CAMPAIGN‘ is a very serious and necessary activity! In case you were wondering, it ain’t a laughing matter. It’s not even a smiling matter !!! And no, I am not laughing or smiling ! I’m SHOUTING, because I am angry. I see to much road rage…to much disregard for other users on the road…to many drunk drivers…to much speeding and to many road kills ! I’m not only concerned about that cute little fellow, ‘The Road Runner’. I’m also concerned about that human fellow who does not return home because of some tragic vehicle collision on his / her way to work or back, to the shops or back, to a family gathering or back…
Roads are a dangerous places however it seems that some just don’t get it!
“The Road Runner”
Where do you think the idea of a zebra-crossing comes from? Yes, you guessed right – it comes from the pretty patterns on my back! Spot the zebra-crossing – ha ha ha ! Its not actually funny at all! Its serious because people don’t see the stripes ! And if they do then too many of them confuse it for some form of ‘alternative artistic expression ‘ ! Please someone, lend me a shoulder to cry on ! Pedestrian killings in South Africa accounted for 40 % of all road deaths over the December 2012 / January 2013 holiday period.
Drinking and driving is a big problem. The two do not go hand-in-hand. People lose their hands, legs, arms, feet and who knows what else because of drinking and driving. And I’m not talking water, fresh juice , soft drinks, tea or coffee and stuff like that! No, I’m talking the ‘heavy stuff’, the stuff they call ‘ALCOHOL’. You know, the stuff that the breweries want you to drink but simultaneously warn you that it is actually irresponsible to drink especially if you must still drive or do a walk-a-bout. Pure genius, don’t you think ! So, if you and a buddy do decide to go for a drink then ask the question that ZEBBIE would ask, namely “Who is driving us home?“, because neither of you qualify to do so !
TRY THIS SOBRIETY TEST, especially if you drank alcohol and intend to drive somewhere (us animals find that it works well in the African bush). Look at the adjacent picture and answer the following two questions:
Firstly, how many white stripes can you count ? Remember the answer!
Secondly, how many black stripes can you count? Remember the answer!
Now ask someone who has not had any alcohol beverage to drink to do the same test and compare the answers. If the answers differ, wait 30 minutes before repeating the exercise. However if the answers are the same then take 30 minutes anyway, without drinking any further, to tell someone whom you can see has also been drinking and intends to drive away to first do the same test. You will find that not only would you possibly have sobered up somewhat but you probably would have made a new friend too! ”
