
J.P (Hans) Strydom
Hans is a highly qualified and experienced motor vehicle accident investigator and reconstructionist with more than 40 years of experience in law enforcement and traffic related matters. He started his traffic career on 13 June 1966 when he joined the Benoni Traffic Department. He also held senior positions in the Sandton as well as Germiston Traffic Departments. Hans resigned from traffic having held the rank of Superintendent and started a full-time consultancy practice specializing in the investigation, analysis and reconstruction of traffic / motor vehicle accidents. Hans’ experience in this field in fact dates back to 1976.
Hans holds numerous traffic-related qualifications and memberships having studied both locally and abroad, most notably at the Northwestern University, Evanston in Illinois, USA in 1976 as well as the University of North Florida, Jacksonville, Florida, USA in 1984, 1988 and 1998.
The firm J.P. Strydom Accident Consultants was started in 1998 and has since become well-known in the field of motor vehicle accident investigation and reconstruction. The firm has rendered and continues to render expert opinion and court testimony in South Africa and abroad. Services have been rendered to numerous law firms, the South African Road Accident Fund, the Namibian Road Accident Fund, Insurance companies and private individuals.

Darrell Strydom
As of May 2012 Darrell, Hans’ eldest son, started rendering legal consulting and motor vehicle accident investigation services to the firm.
In addition to rendering expert opinion in the investigation, analysis and reconstruction of motor vehicle accidents, he also facilitates training for persons wanting to acquire specialist training in this field.
Darrell was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2004, and has Right of Appearance in the High Court. He is also a former Councilor of the City of Johannesburg. Darrell holds various qualifications in law, politics and the investigation, analysis and reconstruction of motor vehicle accidents.
Darrell is passionate about promoting the important message of road safety and was the convenor of the 2014 & 2016 "Iron Horse Road Safety Carnival" events which saw a large group of motorcycle riders travel along a route of about 160 km around the City of Johannesburg to promote road safety awareness.

Tommy Rootman
Tommy started his working career in the South African Police Services (SAPS) in 1979 where he worked in the General Policing Uniform Branch. He commenced with his apprenticeship in motor mechanics (Petrol and Diesel), was a driver training instructor and held positions as SAPS District Mechanic in charge of District Garage (Brakpan District) as well as Investigating Officer - Detective Branch.
After resigning from SAPS in 1988, Tommy spent almost a year lecturing in Motor Mechanics for the Department of Education and Training before joining the City Council of Benoni as a Traffic Officer where he remained employed for almost 12 years. He obtained various traffic-related qualifications including a diploma for Examiner of Motor Vehicles.
Tommy has since been employed in the private sector and has since 2002 provided consultation services through his consultancy firm, TR Technical Investigation Services.
Tommy is forensic investigator who is qualified and experienced in conducting in-depth mechanical / technical investigations of engines, gearbox, differentials, compressors, brake systems, steering mechanisms, air bag system failures, etc. He also specializes in the investigation of Public Liability and Defective Workmanship / Products Liability claims for various Insurance Companies.
JPSAC has had a longstanding business relationship with Tommy. As of 2018, Tommy joins JPSAC as Specialist Technical Advisor - Mechanical Investigations, whilst still rendering consulting services through his firm.

Jaco Cronje
Jaco obtained a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering after completing his schooling career. He has been self-employed for many years. In 2017, he obtained an international qualification in on-scene accident investigation.
Jaco has been involved in the investigation of motor vehicle accidents at JPSAC since 2017 and provides consulting services in the area of vehicle mechanics.
Jaco also has a passion for promoting road safety awareness.

ZEBBIE
ZEBBIE, is our in-house Road Safety Activist. He hails from the infamous "RoSaFi" TRIBE. He was born in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. His moto is: Road Safety First. He advocates safe and responsible road usage and has a passionate dislike for inconsiderate and lawless motorists. He speaks out against "Road Rage" and his mission in life is to help reduce "Road Kill".
